Is sleep really that important??? And SO what if I'm stressed!!!
Hello I know it has been a LONG time sense I have written....I'm sorry about that. I have been getting ready for graduation which is only 20 weeks from today and also you know that school is a lot of fun but takes a lot of brain power!!! :)
Well you know the old story that with every new year we want to loss weight, be healthy, and be just flat out gorgeous and feel that way in our own skin!
Well tonight I was reading an article from our natural foods market mag called "The weight is over 7 steps to a trim you" by Lisa Petty. So in Lisa's article in step 6 "seek balance to soothe the savage muffin top" Was GREAT!!! She started talking about men and that the "beer belly" can be hormones. But for the women the muffin top can be a sign of Adrenal Fatigue well you know that this was something that I just could not leave with out knowing what that meant so I looked it up.
What is Adrenal Fatigue???
Well the first few things that I found said
"Adrenal fatigue is complicated and not an easy problem to correct. It may take one to two years to cure. Many times there are underlying health problems that are causing adrenal fatigue. In this case you need to find out what the cause is. It could be an ongoing infection or inflammation. It can be candida overgrowth, irritable bowel syndrome, or any of a number of health problems that cause ongoing stress to the adrenals. The underlying cause needs to be addressed as well or you will never be able to heal your adrenal glands."
WOW now that is encouraging......Right??? Well long story short this was not exactly what I was looking for so I just kept looking and found this article on What Is Adrenal Fatigue?. This is a very interesting article basically saying that Adrenal Fatigue could be something that vareys from mild to serious (only being able to get out of bed for a few hours at a time tip thing).
As I was resurching it became so interesting that I just could not stop. And then I found an article called "Natural Cures and Remedies for Adrenal Fatigue" and it said all sorts of things that were actually right on track, with my whole brain injury/tumor protocol!
But what I found was the most interesting was the fact that you need at least 9 hours of sleep (which is where I'm at right now, which is why this has been something that I just could not help but see what it was all about!!). Well anyway so I looked at there protocol, and 2 sections from it just 'jumped of the page' the first was there "Hormones That Help Adrenal Fatigue" and one of their hormones happened to be Progesterone Cream. Which if you are a women (young or wise) this is the BEST stuff in the WORLD it will calm you down and when you feel like crying or just getting very mad you can put some on and INSTANTLY you will feel the deference. I LOVE PROGESTERONE CREAM! And the second was "Life Style Changes That Help Adrenal Fatigue" which is where they said "Rest and sleep are extremely important. You will need nine hours of sleep and maybe more for a very long time. Also rest after meals, at midmorning and mid-afternoon if possible." you really should read their article on it! NOT so that you would be worried about it but because it has some good ideas on how to help your stress level go down!
With all that being said do you now know what causes Adrenal Fatigue??? What causes AF is STRESS!!! YES, STRESS!!!
Our 1# thing that causes us so much pain and grief is STRESS....It can cause us to gain weight, it can cause us to stop sleeping, it causes our body's STRESS just to deal with stress!!! Are you seeing a pattern??? SO how do you deal with stress well do you know one of the best ways to deal with stress is GABA - Gamma-Amino Butyric acid. It is WONDERFUL stuff I LOVE GABA!!
Ever sense I have had my brain injury I have been a walking GABA girl and I know when I even miss one day and depending on the day I will even feel it when I have not taken my evening pills. GABA is a natural relaxation neurotransmitter!
SO with all that info (I'm very sorry if you are confused), DO you think that you will ever look at stress and sleep the same way again???? I know I wont....Mama kept telling me that sleep was important and stress was a big problem to your health (I'm a stresser) but I never fully realized it's significance till today!! :) WOW!!!!
